The Witches of Eastwick is a 1987 American supernatural comedy film directed by George Miller and starring Jack Nicholson as Daryl Van Horne, alongside Cher, Michelle Pfeiffer and Susan Sarandon as the titular witches. The film is based on John Updike's 1984 novel of the same name.
In the film, three career women are unaware that they are witches. They do not realize that their regular meetings have formed an informal coven. A mysterious man starts courting them and impregnating them, but they are increasingly alarmed by his behavior. After all three women abandon him, the stranger tries to manipulate them by invoking their hidden fears. They retaliate by using a voodoo doll to cause him intense pain, leading to a confrontation between the man and his lovers.
